It is one of the seven kiosks located around the Casa de Campo lake, Madrid’s green and recreational lungs of the city. Our client, a concessionaire of Villa Verbena, wants a more informal restaurant concept for this kiosk. The exterior of the kiosk is in a good state of conservation, so it was decided to simply restore the existing wood and treat it with a white lasur that preserves the grain of the wood. Furthermore, the color of the existing carpentry is changed from a burgundy to a Payne’s grey color, much more in keeping with the environment.
This same treatment, white lasur for the wood and the carpentry in Payne’s grey, is also taken inside the kiosk. Outdoors and indoors speak the same language.
Most of the day-to-day operations of the kiosk take place outside the kiosk. The terrace is essential and the connection between the exterior and the interior has always been a key issue in the project. All the windows of the three visible façades of the kiosk open completely. Outdoors and indoors are the same space.

In addition to the relationship this kiosk has with its own terrace, it’s located right on the main path that surrounds the lake. The relationship of the kiosk with this path is important since it’s the center of attention of the passers-by which invites them to sit back and admire the views of the lake.
