The Casa de Campo is one of the main green and recreational areas of Madrid. Next to its lake there are 7 kiosks. One of these kiosks, which used to be called Los Recios, remained closed for several years. It is situated in an area that was declared a ‘Cultural Interest Asset’ for historical reasons, and for this reason the shape and volume of the kiosk is protected. Our intervention, then, focuses on completely changing its facades, while maintaining the volume and in providing the interior with the necessary services for a restaurant with a terrace for more than 300 diners. All the materials, tones and textures used aim to integrate the building into the environment.
The main access to the kiosk is from the front of the bar that will be the backdrop for this space. The interior hall of the kiosk opens up completely upon the terrace through folding sliding doors. Its green tones help integrate the indoors with the outdoors. The central building is covered with black matte lacquered steel sheets, enhancing the grill concept that makes the restaurant so famous. The volumes that surround the central area (hall and kitchen), are covered with accoya wood slats, and also house the toilets and changing rooms.

The metallic skin of the central building is interrupted by a corner window that surrounds the grill, a fundamental element in the kitchen of this kiosk and that we are interested in showing the guests.
